Why choose MYLO for myopia management?

MYLO and MYLO Toric contact lenses offer a comfortable and effective solution for the management of myopia, especially in children and adolescents.

It is a silicone hydrogel lens, with a monthly replacement and a design that uses BHVI’s patented Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) technology, which not only corrects central vision, but also peripheral defocus, a key factor in the progression of myopia.

Proven efficacy after 4 years with MYLO

The study, conducted over a four-year period, involved 98 myopic patients aged 6 to 13 years. The participants were assigned to two groups: one with MYLO soft contact lenses and the other with monofocal distance . The aim was to assess the rate of myopia progression by measuring changes in axial length and cycloplegic refraction.

The study demonstrates significant results in controlling myopia progression. Here are the most relevant data:

  • Axial length reduction: Users experienced a 53mm (CARE value) reduction in axial elongation of the eye compared to a control group. This is a critical indicator of efficacy in myopia management.

  • Refractive reduction: after 4 years a reduction of 98D was observed between the experimental group and the control group.

  • Tolerance and adaptation: EDOF technology was well tolerated even after several years of continuous wear, highlighting the comfort and safety of these lenses.

These results not only confirm the positive impact of MYLO, but also highlight its ability to address long-term needs in myopia management.

Proven efficacy after 2 years with MYLO TORIC

The two-year study with MYLO Toric demonstrates that patients with astigmatism can also benefit from myopia control without compromising vision correction. The main results were:

  • Reduction in axial elongation: Users experienced a reduction of 33mm (CARE value). in axial elongation of the eye compared to a control group

  • Refractive reduction: MYLO Toric users showed a 59D reduction in refractive progression.

  • Simplified fitting: The toric design ensures proper stabilisation for wearers with astigmatism, significantly reducing vision variability.

These results consolidate MYLO Toric as an effective and personalised alternative for the management of myopia in patients with astigmatism.

Both MYLO and MYLO Toric participants reported high levels of satisfaction with visual clarity, vision stability and overall comfort after one month of lens wear. These subjective measurements indicated that MYLO lenses are a promising option for myopia in children.

These studies contribute to the growing body of research on myopia control strategies and underline the importance of early intervention in the management of myopia in children. Slowing the progression of myopia can have important health, financial and social benefits for individuals and society.
